to be the highest watched debates ever, just because people are anxious to see what mitt romney will talk about, because he has gone this far and it feels to me like his campaign has been i am not barack obama. we want to hear specifics. i am just concerned and his approach. i just want to see what it's going to be. i voted for the president the last election even though i am independent. there's a lot about the republican platform, the party platform that i agree with and there's a lot about the democratic party platform i don't agree with. but when it comes to leadership, it has been really embarrassing to watch mitt romney. it is just sad. so this will be his chance. peter he will pull it off or not. i am not going to vote for him just because of-principle of- he will pull it off or not. i am not going to vote for a mormon. it is the core of who he is because of his leadership in the turkischurch for 10 years. i feel that influences a lot of his decisions. host: nothing he can say tomorrow night would change your opinion? caller: no, but i would like to see him still be a viable candidate an

barack obama and mitt romney are in full political mode. so i talked with candy earlier and she believes the pressure is on romney to nail this first debate. if you agree with that, does that mean that he's got to try really hard to answer every question in detail or carefully avoid certain issues or topics that might be pitfalls for him? >> i agree with that, mitt romney is behindnd and even if he wasn't behind, the president won in 2008 if he can hold his voters from 2008, he can win. romney is the one that has to dislodge voters from the president. i look at the polling in this case, it does turn the expectations on its head in one respect. the challenge is not so much to make a case for president obama, as it is to make a case for himself. it has been able to --. he will do better over the next four years, in particular, he is suffering from -- that he does not relate to or really care about the lives of average working people, i think that is much more of a challenge for him, he didn't really do it as much as he needed to at the convention, that i think is job number one, more than
